Traveling Light

Well it's been a while since I last blog for real instead of Hi I am alive blog. Anyway today after leaving Paradise this morning we headed toward Sacramento just outside of Davis. It was cool just to spend a day off with the group.

Our team has been getting along quite well and I am happy to see how God is moving in this group. I love my team and I pray that God will continue to pour love in my heart so that when times get bad, I can still say I love this team.

Touring on the road travel days have been fun. The ocean views and beautiful hills and trees can make you wake up and Thank the Lord that you are here. The views of California have been so great, as a writer it has inspired me to seek more of God's wisdom about the beauty and His grace. I want to write more and more about Him and his creations.

Today in Old Town Sacramento, I got to go to many great Candy Paradise's and got lost in the beauty of the old buildings mix with the new. I also got to go into some great stores. One I like a lot was the hat store. My heart jumped at the many hats and the styles and I just wanted to fly home with all of them. I didn't buy any though cause I am on tour and well I have already 3 hats to manage. But I got their card and might order some when I get home.

We also went into a few great shops and I found a beautiful blue dress which I bought a a ridiculously low price for it. It's a Chinese style dress and fits me perfectly. Either I have the body or just the fit of dress. :) That made my day....Now I just have to figure how to cart it around.

On other things I am reminded of all my friends on past tours and their adventures. I listened to my friends Ashli's favorite song from FM Static today and past a few great train models and listen to my friend Walters road cd. It was like having them on tour again. I also saw some beautiful purses that my friend Sarah might enjoy. It's the little things that remind you of your friends that allow them to join you on your journey some how. Oh yeah and a Fedora that reminded me of my friend Kevin and my friend David.

Anyway I am going to get off this beast and get some packing for I have a show to do tomorrow. The shows have been inspiring to a lot of people and I am glad God has asked me to be a part of this. Where I will go after this is where ever the Lord's leads me.

Greater than Me

Well it was a long day to an equally long start. We left Mocks Cres at the crack of dawn or at least hoping to leave at 7:00am. However with the way things played out we left just prior to 8:30 am. A very usual day of tour, some things gotta break, something gotta happen or it would be not normal. As a missionary, always expect the unexpected and be flexible to any circumstance.
So for the most of the first drive, I slept in the van while I didn't have co-pilot duties. That was interesting sleeping upward but I managed. As I said as a missionary you need to be flexible.
Other than that we arrived in California safely. The sunshine made my heart jump out. I laughed today at the fact that I wasn't the first one that had to really go to the washroom today. Although my wonderful team mate tried to convince my group other wise. It was funny, I guess you really have to know me and know the weird situations I am always in.

So we took the scenic view on 101 South. This was the perfect day for that. After leaving rainy Oregon and entering Sunny California it was great. The ocean to the side of us was a complete heart stopper. The waves climbed the rocks as it almost was reaching out to the heavens. The water was so green and the white foam cascaded over the white sand. This was the side I was one while my driver didn't have the window side view.

On the drivers side and at some parts of the drive, surrounding our travels was the great Red woods of California. It was something to admire as we traveled right through it. I told my driver Johnny that "Wow, to think just how wonderful and old these trees are. They have been here longer than us and they are still standing tall." I imagine God looking down at me and smiling because I was appreciating His gift of natural beauty and splendor. Something in my heart jumped up and was in love with my creator that created these wonderful beautiful trees. They were strong and tall, and were pleasantly coloured green with fresh life emitting from them. But near their trunks they had seen hard times as they wore the marks of a solider in battle. To see what they must have had to withstand to get to the stage they were at reminded me a lot of our Christian walk with God.

We start out as young children of God with our innocence and joy of life. We haven't experience the troubles that life brings and we are quite naive. Then along our path we start to see life as a mundane task in which we want out of this prison. We look around the box on the four corners but we never bother to look up for a way out. Some of us will experience the hardships that take us where we are today if only we can figure out that by looking to the one who has made a way to climb out only then will we ever get out of the box stronger and more full of life. Others won't even make it for next spring. But those who do, God showers them with glory. Just like the great trees in the Red wood forest. The trunks though weathered, were strong, and bold and beautiful.

During this magnificent ride we were listening to Rebecca St. James song, and it talked about the ocean as we past a very wonderful view of it. My heart leaped and it reminded me of the day trip in B.C. forest of Canada talking to my friend Hanna and remembering my friend Tyson who wanted to see these big red trees.

It's funny, you can see God just watching His children enjoy the world that He created for them. And by this we end up worshiping the one who created us and falling deeper in love with our first love...Jesus Christ.

So after all that said, we have a show tomorrow and I have to get to bed if I want to wake up as an old lady.

For His Glory, forever

Here I am, yes Lord your Will is my command even when it means getting on my knees and praying till the show starts. Well that's how I was feeling on Sunday as the Lord led my heart to pray for the 3000 people groups who still need to hear His word. I also was told to pray for a Janice who I am not even sure if she even went to the show that Sunday night.

However I was obedient and I prayed a lot on and off stage. The show went well and I was taught something through that. God calls us to pray for a reason. I am not sure what reason but we should do it in pure obedience to Him to glorify our Lord Jesus Christ.

Other than that, I had a wonderful sleep that night with a wonderful homestay or billet. It was all good. After that we went to Pilgrim Bookstore where I got the Newsboy cd and the book by Elizabeth Elliot. I was sad though I couldn't find Waking Ashland.

I will keep looking for that. Today was filled with work projects and I spent the Sunny day indoors stuffing programs. One thing that I missed in my program was thanking Jesus Christ, and my family and friends. The good thing is that God doesn't need to know that on paper because He knows it's written on my heart.

Tomorrow is Chinese New Year and I got to talk to my dad. It was cool, I will talk to them some more later. I miss my family but I know that they love me a lot. I know that I have at least 5 people in my life that love me a whole lot. The world would not be the same without them in my life. Other than that, just tired tonight.

Create Something

So here I am as I finally get a chance to update my blog log. It's been a while and a very busy week indeed. We finished a long week full of trials and tribulations. Through it all God has been with us. The last Mock show day was good. Our rehersal went off well. I enjoyed performing for an audience and it was uplifting experience once again.

To that extent, we needed a good day off. I spent mine shopping. I bought a Fedora and a few cd's. It was great just to relax after a week like that. Also our new team member came today. I am praying that we will get along since I will be working with him a lot.

Other than that, I have been reading Elizabeth Elliot's book, Quest for Love. It was in the Road Library and since this been the month for Valentines Day I decided to read that one. I am surprise how much time I get to read this tour. It's great! Anyway that's all I am going to say cause I have to finish writing snail mail and I hope things get done. It's late.

Later,
Mae
